Registration Details for Online Classes at Journey Through Life Yoga

Margo Macfarlane | OCT 27, 2020

Greetings to all!

I hope that you are all doing well. This email includes information about how to sign up for zoom classes through my website and about a FREE Election Night class on November 3rd. Currently I am offering three classes per week:

  • Gentle Hatha Stretch Mondays 8:30 - 9:30 am
  • Intermediate Flow - Hatha with a kick Tuesdays 8:30 - 9:30 am
  • Gentle Hatha - Anatomy focus Thursdays 8:30 - 9:30 am

Registration: To register, go to www.jtlyoga.com and go to the “Offerings” tab.Choose the Class you wish to sign up for and click “More Details”. This should bring up a list of all of the available dates for that particular class through the end of the year.

Payment: COVID has created obstacles and hardships for all of us, including job loss and financial stress where difficult choices are sometimes necessary. So that you can continue to receive the support that you need from your yoga practice, I am offering a tiered pricing schedule that allows you to pay what you can to participate in class. ($5, $10, $15 or “other”)

Waiver: Please review and acknowledge the waiver when prompted.

You should receive a confirmation email shortly after signing up and I will send a zoom link the night before your scheduled class.

Every class will be recorded on zoom and sent to all pre-registered participants so that if you cannot take class at the scheduled time, you can do so at your leisure or repeat it during the week. It will be available for one week following the live class.

Preparing for practice: In addition to your open mind, heart and yoga mat, I recommend the following props to support you in your practice:

  • Comfortable clothing that provides enough warmth and ease of movement. Layering is always a good thing!
  • 2 or more yoga blocks (STRONGLY recommended!! I use them in every class) You can get them online from many sources and they do not need to be anything special or expensive. (Amazon, Walmart, Target, Five Below (https://www.fivebelow.com/products/series-8-fitness-marble-yoga-block) I recommend the larger block size for most people to allow maximum height. If blocks are not available, sturdy shoe boxes with the lids duct taped closed or thick books can also be used.
  • Strap: This can be a traditional woven yoga strap or a long tie, belt or scarf and should be approximately 3 feet long.
  • Blankets, Pillows and Towels (oh my!): Tools of magic to provide support for hips, knees, back and neck. I recommend a blanket on the sturdier side vs soft and squishy for supporting seated postures. A beach towel or two is nice to have and can be folded in multiple ways. A couple of softer sofa/toss pillows. It’s never a bad thing to have more props than you think you need!

I hope that this information was helpful and please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, thoughts or suggestions.

I look forward to seeing you on your mat!!!

Namaste,

Margo
